Former Malaysian defender and football pundit Shebby Singh has been appointed Blackburn's director of football.

According to UK's Daily Mail, one of Shebby's tasks at the club is to act as a go-between for its Indian owners, Venky and Steve Kean, although the manager's future is uncertain after the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

He started his sporting career as a defender. He was part of the Kuala Lumpur FA team which won the Malaysia Cup three years from 1987 to 1990. During his 18 years in football, he won every domestic honour including the Malaysian FA Cup. He also played in Asian Games.

Shebby has played against Bayern Munich, Hamburg SV, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Shrewsbury Town where he was voted Man Of The Match. He has also earned a reputation for his forthright views on the Premier League as a television pundit.
