Lampard: 'Yes, we can!'

Frank Lampard roared Chelsea’s Champions League war-cry last night.

The Blues face hot favourites Bayern Munich in the German side’s own stadium. But Lamps said: “To be underdogs gives you a determination — bring it on. The fact they’re the home team is a great challenge for us.

“The atmosphere here is amazing and we sampled a bit of it from the airport to the hotel.

“Playing at home, being in your own changing room, the city with your fans... it’s an advantage.”

Chelsea are bidding to win Europe’s big prize for the first time having lost the final on penalties to Manchester United in Moscow four years ago.

Lampard, Blues skipper in the absence of the banned John Terry, said: “We remember that feeling of losing, that disappointment, and we’ll use that to inspire us to win here.

“You saw the celebrations after the Barca semi-final — we were so desperate to be here again in a final.”

Interim Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo insisted: “I do believe my players have all the qualities you need to win this competition.

“Those qualities have taken us to here. I’m very positive and very confident.

“Can we win it? Yes.” - www.thesun.co.uk
