Toure wants world domination
Yaya Toure wants to lead Manchester City to world domination.
The rampaging midfielder scored twice at Newcastle last Sunday to take City within touching distance of a first top flight title in 44 years.
But Ivory Coast superstar Toure says the Premier League crown will be just the start as City bid to become the top team on the planet.
He declared: “I want to help the club go forward and make it bigger than any club in the world.
“That’s why I came here, to help the team and give my experience to the guys.
“We have grown as a team. I came to this club to win things and I want to win things — we started that last season with the FA Cup.
“We have a team of owners, managers, coaches, players and fans who are all together in their desire to win.
“We work well together and we are learning every day how to be better, stronger and successful.”
“I said a long time ago I wanted to come to a club to make a story and my decision was to come to City. I think I made the right choice.”
City are likely to get the cheque book out again this summer with Robin van Persie and Eden Hazard among the names on their shopping list.
Despite claims he is eyeing a move back to the Nou Camp, Toure insists he is happy with the role he has at the Etihad.
He said: “You want to be an important player and at Barcelona it was not enough. At Barcelona I was a good player but at City I am an important player for the team.
Champions Manchester United hope their former hero Mark Hughes will do them a huge favour by helping QPR take a point at City.
But Toure – who won the Champions League during his time at the Nou Camp – insists he is not feeling the pressure.
He said: “No, because I have a lot of experience. I have already won some important trophies.
“This Sunday coming, we have to deliver It’s very important.” - www.thesun.co.uk
