Man City mascot aged 88
Devoted Manchester City fan Celia Hodkin will fulfil her dream of becoming the club's matchday mascot today — on her 88TH birthday.
Celia — who has been watching City since 1933 — will meet stars such as Mario Balotelli before the game against Fulham.
She will also get a tour of the Etihad stadium, a signed football from City legend Mike Summerbee and a birthday cake after the final whistle.
Premier League leaders City's bosses arranged her visit after her daughter Cath wrote to them.
Cath said: "They have set up a wonderful day. She's over the moon."
Celia, of New Moston, Manchester, now watches games on TV as she cares for husband Syd, 91.
She said: "I first saw City when I was nine. It's not been easy supporting them all these years."
City ambassador Summerbee, 69, said: "It's an honour to meet such a loyal fan." - www.thesun.co.uk
