Malaysian student in nude photo scandal charged
A 17-year-old Malaysian student has been charged in connection with a nude photo scandal in Hong Kong.
Luke Thomas Pickering from the Australian International School Hong Kong is facing five charges including criminal intimidation, extortion, assault and misuse of the computer.
The victim, also a student at the school, saw her nude photographs on YouTube and lodged a police report.
According to the charge sheet, Pickering had forced the victim to strip naked on July 1, 2009, and he took some photos.
He then extorted HK$2,000 (R$M784) from the victim.
Although the victim had paid him half the amount, Pickering still uploaded a nude photo of her onto the Internet.
The victim has denied her love relationship with the accused, saying they were just schoolmates.
