Welcome to Bikinis, Texas. Population: Breasts
Hooters. Jugs. Knockers.. The rising popularity of the "breastaurant" industry shows no sign of slowing in America, with one enterprising chain buying a patch of Texas wasteland off Craigslist and renaming it Bikinis.
Set to open this fall, the new town, named after Doug Guller's chain Bikinis Sports Bar & Brill, is poised to become a den perpetually peopled with young, buxom girls who serve booze in minimal clothing.
Or, in the company's own words, "...it's guaranteed to include youngish, large-chested women in undersized swimwear."
What used to be known as Bankersmith, Texas, north of San Antonio, will be known simply as Bikinis. The ranch-style adult playground will centre around a public dance hall and live music to serve as a "gateway for frisky, middle-aged men who have apparently never heard of a strip club," according to the website.
First established in 1913, at its peak, Bankersmith was home to 40 people and had one post office, lumberyard and dance hall. Currently it is used as a stopover for people en route to larger towns.
Guller's plans for Bikinis, USA include converting an abandoned, old rusty bus into a bar and retrofitting a house into a bikini "hall of fame".
Modelled after Hooters, Bikinis has experienced rapid growth in the US, particularly in Texas. Other locations include Charlotte, North Carolina, Oklahoma City with more locations on the way. Other popular and expanding "breastaurant" chains include Twin Peaks and the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery.
