Man jailed for punching cabby, refusing to pay fare

A manager was jailed for four weeks on Tuesday for punching a Singapore cabby on the cheek after refusing to pay his taxi fare.

Jeevan Ashok, 24, admitted to causing hurt to Lip Tuck Seng, 46, along Tampines Street 23 on Aug 30, 2011.

A court heard that Jeevan took Lip's cab near Orchard Towers at about 4.30am on Aug 30 and directed the driver to proceed to Tampines Street 23.

On arrival, he refused to pay the fare of about S$27 (RM64) and walked off.

Lip followed him and demanded payment
