Climbing up a cliff without ropes!
Don't look down! This is the incredible moment a daredevil climber scales a 500ft cliff WITHOUT ROPES.
1 comment Human fly Mich Kemeter, 23, defies gravity in these amazing photos taken in the Verdon National Park, France.
The daredevil is a world expert at free solo climbing - a mind-boggling sport in which participants go without 'essential' equipment like ropes and harnesses.
Mountain adventure photographer Alexandre Buisse, 26, follows great climbers all round the world from the UK to Nepal capturing their amazing feats.
Caters News Agency And for Alexandre the overall rule is don’t put them off, or they might fall to their death.
Alexandre, from Lyon, France, takes his own life into his hands following the spiderman-like athletes.
He said: “It can be dangerous, but we make sure that we do things the right way, it is not dangerous to us.
Caters News Agency “For the shot where Mich is on the 500ft cliff we had to abseil down the rock face for about 30 metres, or 100 feet, and then Mich removes the ropes.
“He then has to climb back up again himself while I am above taking the pictures. Of course the biggest thing for me is not distracting Mich, I don’t want him to fall.
“Mich is a free solo climber and one of the best in the world. In some of the photographs you can see he is wearing a backpack, that actually contains a parachute which he can use if he does fall off, just like Mission Impossible really.”
Photgrapher Alexandre travels the globe following extreme climbers and athletes, his work can be found in the book Remote Exposure or his website. - www.thesun.co.uk
