A genius with 11 university degrees who speaks five languages fluently is working as a LOLLIPOP MAN.
Dr Bruce Berry is in the top one per cent of Britain’s brain-boxes.
Yet five days a week the Mensa boffin bikes four miles to help kids cross the road.
Bruce, 70, who became a Doctor of Philosophy with a 425-page thesis on Russian-born writer Andrei Makine, said: “I love working for degrees but wanted to do something for the community. It’s nice to get kiddies to and from school safely.”
As well as his PhD, Bruce has three BAs, seven MAs and is fluent in French, German, Italian, Spanish and Russian.
The modest bachelor from Sharlston, West Yorks, started work as a post office clerk and studied in his spare time before becoming a translator.
Bruce gets £200 a month to patrol for 90 minutes a day outside Crofton School, Wakefield, where his dad was a teacher.
He said: “I feel part of the family there.” - www.thesun.co.uk
