Girl dies while playing rounders

A girl died yesterday after collapsing during a game of rounders at school.
Nicky Payne, 15, fell ill at around 11.30am and was rushed to hospital by paramedics, but she could not be saved.
Devastated pupils at Angley School in Cranbrook, Kent, were told of the tragedy at a special assembly.
A spokesman for Kent Police said last night: “The death is being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious. Nicky’s family is being supported by a family liaison officer.”
Yesterday’s tragedy at the 900-pupil school comes just a month after 12-year-old Leonie Nice died after being hit by a ball during a PE lesson in Basildon, Essex.
