Student makes tablet PC for girlfriend

A college student has made a tablet PC from a secondhand laptop for his girlfriend.
Wei Xinlong and Sun Shasha are seniors in the Art and Design Department at Northeast Normal University in Changchun, China.
It took Wei 10 days and 800 yuan (RM400) to build the gadget, whose weight and thickness are similar to an iPad.
The touch-screen PC enables its user to read, download, watch movies and play games.

Wei said he did not have enough money to buy his lover a new computer, so he started making one by studying Internet video programs on how to make tablet PCs.
"The main board, video card, CPU and screen were all from the old laptop that costs 500 yuan (RM250).
"And I bought the touch screen and battery online," he said.
Wei spent a considerable amount of time and energy on the cover of the PC too, according to Sun.
"The holes on it were all hand-carved and polished.
"This is the best gift I’ve ever had, and I will keep it forever," added Sun, whose gift now has rhinestones on its cover. – China Daily
