Murder suspect nabbed after appearing on TV show




A man, who was wanted for a murder 13 years ago, has been arrested in China.

The 40-yeart-old Wu Gang, who had changed his name to Liu Hao, participated in a match-making show organsied by Heilongjiang Satellite TV.

Last November, the vocal teacher in Shenyang sang a song on the show, and successfully won the heart of a then 31-year-old wedding planner.

But his luck ran out.

A viewer recognised him and reported to the police who arrested the wanted man last month.



Wu Gang, a pub worker then, killed his friend Sun Jun, 24, after a heated argument in Jilin province in 1998.

He fled the scene after that while Sun Jun's mother became mad after the death of her son.

After he was arrested, Wu Gang said he was involved in organising parties for weddings and other celebrations.

He said he participated in the TV show to boost his reputation in order to get more jobs.

Wu Gang said he thought everyone had forgotten about the murder after so many years.

He was married and had a seven-year-old son when he committed the crime, but his wife had told the child that he was dead.
