Fined for assaulting ex-wife

Rosman Ridzuan pleaded guilty to assault
U Mobile chairman Datuk Rosman Ridzuan, who is the husband of actress Noniswara Baharudin, was fined RM700 by a KL magistrate’s court Monday after he pleaded guilty to having assaulted his ex-wife, Azura Ibrahim, four years ago.
Magistrate Mohd Faizi Che Abu also ordered that Rosman be jailed a week if he failed to pay the fine.
On Aug 20, Rosman, 52, had pleaded not guilty to the offence in the same court but changed his plea yesterday after the charge under Section 323 was read out to him.
Rosman, who married Noniswara in July, was charged with intentionally hurting Azura, 37, on the third floor of Plaza Kuala Lumpur in Jalan Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur at 12.30pm on April 8, 2005.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Ain Zulkifli appeared for the prosecution while Rosman was represented by laywer Firuz Jafril.
