Eager response for 'Going The Distance'
By Fiona Ho
Waking up early on a Sunday morning can be quite a bummer.
But Daily Chilli readers proved to be an eager bunch when they emerged bright and early for a morning screening of Going The Distance at GSC, Tropicana City Mall.
The readers, who won free passes to the special screening from a contest held earlier, were spotted at the premise from as early as 9am.
Going The Distance is a romantic comedy centred on a couple who try to make their long distance relationship (LDR) work as they shuttle back and forth between New York and San Francisco to see each other.

Spotted: Daily Chilli readers at a morning screening of Going The Distance.
The movie stars Drew Barrymore as the charismatic, free-spirited Erin, while Justin Long plays Garrett, a commitment-phobic who has problems understanding what women want.
Mark Ng, a lecturer from Monash University who was among the crowd, said he didn’t mind waking up early to catch the movie.
"It’s free what!" he said with a laugh.
Ng, who attended the screening with his girlfriend, added he can somewhat relate to the LDR scenario in Going The Distance.
"I live in Cheras and my girlfriend lives in Puchong, so it is sort of ‘long-distance’. Plus, I have to pay toll!" said the boyish looking lecturer.
Meanwhile, Farrell Tan, a PR consultant, thought the movie was one of the better chick-flicks he’s seen.
"It’s realistic for people who have been in that kind of relationship," he said.
Tan himself was in a LDR with someone from Singapore for one-and-a-half years.
"A lot of hard work and persistence is involved in a relationship like that. I can understand the situation of the characters in the movie."
"It didn’t work out for me, but I know a lot of people who can work out a LDR," the stylish guy quipped.
