A new beauty pageant competition has been launched to find a young, energetic and beautiful woman with a loving heart.

The winner will represent the country in various charity activities within and outside the country.

The 'Miss Beautiful Angel' competition is open to Malaysian Chinese females, aged between 18 and 25 who speak Mandarin.

Contestants must also have a minimum height of 163cm and a maximum weight of 55kg.

The winner of the pageant will get RM30,000 in cash and other prizes worth RM30,000. She will also be featured in the front cover of a magazine.

Datuk Prof Dr Steven Leow, president of event organiser IPC Group, said the competition is being held in conjunction with a charity show to raise funds for reconstruction work in earthquake-hit Yushu, China.

"We want to help the children return to school as education is is very important. We are aiming to raise RM1mil for the rebuilding of Yushu,’" he said at the launch of the competition on Tuesday.

Leow said a similar beauty pageant competition was also being held in China.

"Their finalists will join ours in the semi final round here in August," he said, adding that the winner will be announced at the Grand Final on Sept 4.

Closing date for the event is on June 25, 2010. More details are available at www.missbeautifulangel.com.
