Tom Jones to perform groin-grinding hits

A spike in the sale of disposable panties is expected leading up to March 19 when legendary singer Sir Tomes Jones hits the Planery Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Yes, “Jones the voice” will take no prisoners as he pumps it with groin-grinding hits like It’s Not Unusual, Thunderball, Delilah, She’s A Lady, Kiss and Sex Bomb.

Currently on a world tour promoting his critically-acclaimed new album 24 Hours, Jones will be showcasing part of the album, along with his classics from the 1960s right through to this day while on his sold-out global trek.

Speaking from Australia recently, the 69-yeard old singer revealed that he is excited at the thought of getting to visit Malaysia again. “I love the traditional dresses and music there. I like to see authentic things and there’s plenty of that in your country,” said the Welshman, who has had concerts here previously in 1985 and 1994.

The singer, who is renowned for his raunchy live shows, has remained a favourite with his adoring female fans to this day. In fact, he has managed to successfully bridge the gap between older and younger listeners with knack for making music which appeals to both age groups.

Sir Tom Jones, as he is known today after being knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2006 for his contribution to music, will be pulling out all the stops during his live show here, mixing classic hits with new music. “I’ll be playing some songs from 24 Hours and of course my hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I’ll also be throwing in a classic cover or two like Otis Redding’s Hard To Handle,” he said.
