It's on: Sandy Lam, Man City FC and more

COMPILED BY OLIVIA LEE
J-pop and K-pop take a break as the next seven days are brought to you by the letters M and C—that's Mando-pop, Canto-pop and Manchester City FC.
Sandy Lam MMXII Concert
In 2009, she promised 8,000 ticket holders a sensational show and she gave it to them—four encores that stretched her concert to three hours. Now, the 46-year-old Hong Kong diva is back, and if her Singapore show last April is anything to go by, we can expect her to belt out hits like Egyptian Rose, Grey, Home Again Without You and Suffering In The Cold Wind in another live extravaganza.

The Legend, Live In Malaysia 2012
Taiwanese assemble! Steve Chou, Huang Pin Yuan, Chief Zhao and Jerry Huang have come together for the first time to entertain us with classic tunes from the '80s and '90s. Chief, a household name back then, recorded songs like Wo Shi Yi Zhi Xiao Xiao Niao (I'm A Little Bird) and Wo Hen Chou Ke Shi Wo Hen Wen Rou (I'm Ugly But I'm Gentle). Actor-singer Pin Yuan, with over 100 million albums sold in Taiwan alone, produced hits like Ni Zen Me She De Wo Nan Guo (How Can You Let Me Suffer) and Wu Yan De Shan Qiu (Silent Hill). Singer-songwriter Steve has been praised for his emotional singing style, especially on his album Growing Up Together. Songwriter-producer Jerry released his first album, Ma Bu Ting Ti De You Shang (Unstoppable Sadness), in 1998.

Shine 2012 Stars Concert
Four more Taiwan stars are in the country to entertain, this one for the fans up north. Shin—former frontman for the rock band Shin and famous for high notes—began his solo career in 2007 and has had five hit albums, with the latest, Before Dawn, out last year. He's also performed before with fellow Shine 2012 headliner A-Lin in a Melbourne concert. The 28-year-old pop singer—who made her debut in 2006—has often been called "the next A-Mei". She was voted Best Mandarin Female Singer at Taiwan's recent Golden Melody awards. Veteran singers Chyi Yu and Phil Chang round up the fabulous four.

Manchester City FC Summer Tour
Team Malaysia XI came this close to taking out the Gunners this week, but Arsene Wenger's Arsenal scraped by with two late goals for a narrow win. Perhaps our SEA Games gold medal players will get lucky when they take on the newly crowned Premier League champs Manchester City. Sadly, the touring squad will not include Italian striker Mario Balotelli and Spainish midfielder David Silva, who are both on holiday after featuring in Euro 2012.
