Inspired by fashion icons Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn and Kate Middleton, womenwear designer Fizi Woo was an obvious favourite from the get-go at the UiTM graduates fashion show on Sunday, cutting down 22 other designers and taking gold at the Gala Awards with his classic and sophisticated outfits.
Having already triumphed at Piala Seri Iman 2010 and coming in second at Piala Seri Endon 2011, the overachiever has now added another feather to his already-impressive cap of accomplishments, acing his graduation ceremony which required each final year student to parade six of their best designs.
"This is one more achievement for me. Why did I get the award? I don't know. Hard work and passion I guess!" he told Daily Chilli. And what has he got to look forward to after this victory? "More hard work!" he says.
Check out Fizi's reaction at winning in the video below.
If anyone knows about hard work, it's Fizi—completing a fashion degree and consistently creating award-grabbing collections takes some doing. On his Facebook page, the 20something rising star of fashion posted a message saying his graduation was a turning point in his life.
He also gave thanks to everyone who’s supported him thus far, including his family, his proud teacher Faizal Hamid, and his design partner and trained architect Izree Kai Hafiz.
