By Wahiduzzaman
After a year in show business, Nur Anzalna Nasir is ready for major roles in TV dramas and the big screen.
A finalist in the teen beauty contest Dewi Remaja in 2010, she hopes her lead roles in two upcoming films – Sepah The Movie and Dr K Kahwin Lima – will propel her to the limelight that famous stars enjoy.
In the former, the 24-year-old will be acting alongside the increasingly popular Sepah comedy group.
The movie, which is due to start filming at the end of the year, is directed by MP Roslin and stars the better-known Ayu Sofia and Jehan Miskin.
Dr K Kahwin Lima is the latest production from KRU Studios, which will start filming soon.
"The film will be different from the usual and exciting," Anzalna told mStar, the Malay news portal of The Star, declining to divulge more details.
On TV, she was offered to take the female lead in TV3's Mahabbah drama series and Astro's Adam & Hawa.

Anzalna and Hanif Zaki
Anzalna is currently also seen in the TV3 series Indera Joned – a Malay spoof of the Hollywood fictional Indiana Jones character – which she said helped to kick-start her acting career.
Thanking her colleagues in the industry for encouraging her to improve her acting skills, Anzalna said: "I will not let down the directors and producers who have given me the opportunity to play the female lead."
On her relationship with Hanif Zaki, 24, she said: "I am comfortable having him around because I trust him. We have been together for almost a year and he has shown a lot of tolerance with me."
