Cherie Chung joins Weibo

Welcome to Weibo, Cherie Chung! (image source: on.cc)
We can almost hear a collective exclamation of joy this morning, when Cherie Chung hits the keys and hops on the Weibo bandwagon.
Except for environment work or charity, these days it's hard to get a glimpse of the legendary actress, who quit the showbiz in 1991 and married advertising guru Mike Chu in the U.S. in the same year.
Back in the 1980s, with her good looks and charming performances in films like An Autumn Tale, Chung rose to become one of the most popular and drooled-after actresses in Hong Kong.
After finding love in Chu, Chung gave up her high-flying showbiz career, with her last film being John Woo's Once a Thief in 1991. Since then, she has been channeling her time and energy into her marriage as well as environment work.
Despite being out of the showbiz, Chung remained one of Hong Kong's most beautiful women, even at the age of 52. Unfortunately, her husband died of bowel cancer at the age of 53 in 2007.
There're only two posts on her newly opened account so far, but she has attracted 42,316 followers since she joined.
In her first post, the former actress thanked her followers for "entering my world" and expressed her gratitude for their love.
