Golden Melody Awards nominees revealed
Taiwanese rockers Mayday continue their winning streak as they rack up seven nominations at the 23rd Golden Melody Awards, Taiwan's equivalent of Grammy Awards.
With their eighth studio album Second Round, the five-piece pop rock outfit is up for major awards like Best Song of the Year and Best Mandarin Album. Meanwhile, thanks to their hit single Noah's Ark, bassist Masa and the group's frontman Ashin are nominated for Best Composer and Best Lyricist respectively.
Following closely behind the guys are Singaporean singer-songwriter Tanya Chua and S.H.E's Hebe Tien, each with six nominations.
Both singers are also vying for the award of Best Mandarin Female Singer, along with A-Mei, Stefanie Sun, Waa Wei and A-Lin.

Mayday racks up seven nominations at the 23rd Golden Melody Awards.
As for another coveted award, the Best Mandarin Male Singer, seasoned performers like Jay Chou and Eason Chan from Hong Kong are pitted against rising stars Yoga Lin, Jam Hsiao and Luantan Ascent.
However, Lin's and Hsiao's fellow One Million Star alumnus Aska Yang is not up for any award at all, even though his sophomore album Pure - which is produced by the Godfather of Mandopop Jonathan Lee - is a hit with critics and fans alike.
The annual award show will be held at Taipei Arena, Taiwan on June 23.
