Rihanna on hospital drip
Shattered Rihanna stunned fans yesterday by posting a snap of herself hooked to a hospital drip after another all-night bender — fuelling fears for her health.
Her disturbing Twitter photo showed tubes snaking into her forearm — instantly recognisable from the huge black false nails she flashed at a New York fashion ball hours earlier.
Frazzled Rihanna, 24, gave no explanation for the intravenous drip but sources in the US said last night she had been treated at a private medical centre for “exhaustion and dehydration”.
The picture has sparked concern for Rihanna’s physical and mental health — suggesting she could be on the brink of needing rehab.
One fan tweeted: “Rihanna loves to party, but in the past month she has gotten out of control.”
Last November she cancelled a concert in Sweden when she was taken to hospital and put on a drip. Doctors put her weakness down to a bad case of flu.
The Umbrella star’s latest hospital dash comes days after she enraged Saturday Night Live bosses by missing a rehearsal due to illness and tiredness.
She tweeted before she attended the New York Met Ball that she was feeling under the weather — declaring: “F*** being sick”.
The hitmaker was said to have been necking champagne all night at the costume gala on Monday. Her black talons were so long and sharp she had to be helped to take off her Tom Ford frock on bathroom visits.
But the drip treatment did the trick and Rihanna was allowed to fly back to her home in Los Angeles. She tweeted a photo of herself getting on a jet wearing shades with the message: “My ride home, NY days, LA nights”.
Last night top fashion photographr Terry Richardson posted more flattering snaps of the Rude Boy singer in various sultry positions.
