Vincent Zhao to play Ip Man on TV?

Can you imagine Vincent Zhao Wenzhuo as Ip Man?
The story of Ip Man remains a goldmine for the folks in showbiz as another adaptation is now in the works.
Audiences can expect to revisit the life of the Wing Chun master through the TV screen this time. Taiwanese producer Yang Pei Pei is reportedly coming up with a 50-episode drama series on the martial arts legend.
It is reported that Chinese action star Vincent Zhao Wenzhuo has been offered the leading role and that it's likely for him to ink the deal.
Ip, whose disciples included a young Bruce Lee, became an icon in Hong Kong pop culture, when Donnie Yen brought him to life in Ip Man, a film produced by Hong Kong showbiz veteran Raymond Wong. Yen's popularity skyrocketed after starring in the movie and its sequel and he becomes almost synonymous with Ip these days.
Interestingly, Yen, 48, recently made headlines as he fell out with Zhao, 40, on the set of Special Identity not too long ago and the feud resulted in the latter being kicked out from the project.
As for the new drama series, Ip's 87-year-old son Ip Chun will be the consultant, while the female lead will be picked from a bevy of TV actresses in Taiwan.
The project took more than two years to materialise and shooting will commence next month.
