Catwalking at the X Top Model Search 2011 auditions

It was legs and pretty faces galore, as over 50 contestants turned up for the auditions of The X Top Model 2011 on June 11 and 12 at Sunway Pyramid.
The contestants, who were short listed from over 300 candidates, gamely strutted their stuff on the catwalk.
Leggy Kim Low, 25, a model and a nutritionist said she gave the audition her all, after years of “not having enough confidence.”
“It’s my dream to shine on stage and I believe I can now. I also tried out for the Miss Universe Malaysia contest this year. I realised I was getting on in age and thought ‘what if I wake up one day and I’m married with kids and I regret not pursuing my dreams?’” she says.
But Kim, who has been modeling for a year, displayed a lot of confidence as she took to the stage and posed and posed.
Another confident contestant was 21-year-old Gia Azizah, who is studying fashion marketing.

“I was a top 20 finalist for the Ford Supermodel contestant in 2009 but I didn’t make it top the Top 10 because I didn’t have the confidence. I was devastated back then,” she recalls.
But undeterred, she picked herself up and soldiered on and now believes she can ace the X Top Model Competition.
“ I believe I have the X factor. I love being the centre of attention. I also sing and dance. I can even sing in Hindi,” she says.
Another contestant, Nina Azrah, 19, says modeling is something she aspires to be.
“I want to be someone in life. I want to be both smart and beautiful,” says the Bachelor Of Science student.

These three girls and the other hopefuls will know their fate when the top 10 finalists are announced, by June 25.
Among the judges for the auditions were talent agency bigwigs Shaun Salim and Hazel Loke and photographer Jim Liaw.
Supermodel Cay Kuijpers also judged and showed off some moves on the catwalk.
The finalists will then be flown to Hong Kong for grooming before the finale on July 23 at Sunway Pyramid.
The winner gets a contract with Elite Hong Kong Model Management Hong Kong and will get to catwalk in New York and Paris.
