Shu Qi won't strip without reason
Shu Qi will not strip unless she meets a good script.
SHU QI has turned down Zhang Ziyi’s movie Snow Flower and the Secret Fan which requires her to strip.
The Taiwanese star, who started off as a soft porn actress, had successfully wiped off her past and proven her credibility in acting over the years.
And she has no intention of doing nudity again unless the movie has a very interesting script.
Shu Qi told the Hong Kong media that she was not disturbed by doing nudes scenes.
"It is not about the scene. My schedule for next year is very tight and I cannot not find any slot for the movie,’’ she said.
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan is an English film jointly produced by Zhang and Wendi Deng, the wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
Zhang Ziyi's new film will starts filming next year.
The film, which is based on Lisa See’s novel of the same name, will starts filming in China next year.
The cast will be led by Wayne Wang, who also directed the movie Joy Luck Club.
It tells the story about the “companionship” of two bound-feet women - Jin Lian and Xue Hua - in Hunan, China.
One of the scenes requires the two women to write on each other’s bodies.
Zhang will play the role of Jin Lan while Xue Hua was supposed to be played by Shu Qi.
But now, Zhang has turned to Hollywood in search of a new actress to replace Shu Qi.
