Has Nicholas Tse forgiven his ex-wife Cecilia Cheung for forgiving Edison Chen for dragging her into a sex scandal that practically destroyed her career? According to new photos being splashed across Hong Kong's celebrity pages, the couple do seem to be heading for reconciliation.
Pictures captured the divorced couple having a grand time with their eldest son Lucas at Hong Kong's luxurious private club, the Aberdeen Marine Club, with Nick and Cece looking and acting like a married couple again.
Cece showed off her svelte figure in a black bikini as she and Nick did everything together throughout the day—swimming, sunbathing, eating, and all the time talking and laughing by the pool with friends.
Word though the grapevine is that even though their marriage ended bitterly, Cece hasn't given up on their relationship and has been trying to patch things up with Nick for the past year.
There's also been talk of the couple having regular meetings for the sake of their two sons, five-year-old Lucas and two-year-old Quintus—especially Lucas who wants his mummy and daddy back together.
Cece seems to know this and has been reaching out to Nick through their kids and it looks like it's working. Even Hong Kong's fortune-tellers are predicting that there's a high chance of the former husband and wife reuniting.
Just a year ago, Nick and Cece dominated headlines for weeks when their marriage crashed-and-burned. Their divorce came after Cece buried the hatchet with her former lover Edison Chen following a chance meeting in May 2011, despite being caught in his 2008 sex scandal that sent her career spiralling.
Nick, who married Cece in 2005 when they both 25, stood by her side throughout the scandal. She even slammed Edison in public, calling him a liar and a hypocrite. But all that changed when a new (harmless) photo of Cece and Edison popped up and reports pointed to Cece having forgiven Edison for the scandal.
As Nick and Cece's five-year marriage finally crumbled, Hong Kong's tabloid media began painting pictures of Cece as a gold digger, of Nick's mum being a monster-in-law, and of a bitter custody battle over their two sons. The couple officially called it quits in August 2011 after agreeing to share custody of the boys.
