Angelina Jolie made Jagger beg to date her
Angelina has finally come to her senses.
Angelina Jolie and Mick Jagger? Great for him. For her not so much. Still, this was in the '90s when a young, nutty Angelina would inevitably go for grizzly old geezers like Billy Bob Thornton. Anyway, a new biography on Mick has revealed that Angelina left him crying and begging to be with her.
Details of their affair are out in the book Mick: The Wild Life And Mad Genius Of Mick Jagger by Christopher Andersen. According to the author, while scores of women seem to mysteriously fall for Mick's moves, Angelina—almost half his age—was particularly nonchalant about his advances, although she did eventually sleep with him.
She was cast in the Rolling Stones video, Anybody Seen My Baby, and had caught Mick's attention. Back then, he was married to his second wife Jerry Hall, while Angelina was attached to British actor Jonny Lee Miller and reportedly having a fling with her Playing God co-star Timothy Hutton.
It wasn't just a physical attraction. Mick was intrigued by Angelina's dark allure. "She scares me a little—I like that," he said.
So he started courting her with countless phone calls and she finally accepted his invitation to met in Florida. But the book contends that unlike Mick's previous conquests, Angelina was "unimpressed" by the aging rock 'n' roller.
Instead of stopping Mick's infatuation, her reluctance only encouraged him. He became so obsessed with Angelina that he was "virtually sobbing" on the phone according to Lauren Taines, a friend of Angelina's mum who seems to have overhead these "astonishing" calls. It must've worked because Mick and Angelina had a two-year affair after that.
Jagger and current squeeze, designer L'Wren Scott, have been together for 10 years.
Andersen also wrote that while Mick was trying to persuade Angelina to join him on tour in Brazil, Jerry called him to say that she'd given birth to their fourth child, Gabriel. On another occasion, Mick and Angelina spent one night in Bangkok together at a hotel.
