Lo Ta-yu, 58, to become a dad

Wow! Taiwanese singer-songwriter Lo Ta-yu is going to be a daddy.

The 58-year-old whose name has never linked to any woman after he divorced actress-filmmaker Lee Lieh in 2000. All of a sudden, Lo announced that he was going to be a father for the first time. In fact, he had secretly married his wife, whose identity is still a secret, in Bali in 2010.

"(My wife) is expecting in August. After my concert (in Hong Kong next month), I will stay home to take care of her," he told a radio interview in the Special Administrative Region.

"The baby is a girl. I will go into the labour room to cheer for my wife," said the doctor-turned-artiste, adding he would cut the umbilical cord for the baby. "No problem! I have done it many times."

The father-to-be calls the daughter "Little Lo" before deciding on a formal name for her. Lo also said he was excited for the arrival of the baby. However, he refused to talk much about the wife, saying she was "just an ordinary woman".

Lee Lieh sent her wishes to Lo and his family upon being informed by reporters of the good news. Lo married Lee Liah after they dated for 12 years but the marriage ended some one-and-a-half-year later. They don't have any children.
