Denver police say they've arrested the drummer of Denver-based band OneRepublic on suspicion of assault, destruction of private property and disturbing the peace.

ABC 7News in Denver reports that 38-year-old Eddie Fisher was arrested early Tuesday morning.

Fisher's girlfriend Lona Rae, the alleged victim, told KDVR, that things began with a verbal argument but it quickly escalated.

"Things just got out of hand and he snapped ... and my entire cabinets are ripped off from my walls. I had my feet up against the wall trying not to let him in, and he busted through the door and he pushed me through the cabinets."

Fisher’s being held at a Denver jail and is set to appear in court on Wednesday.

He has drummed on Kelly Clarkson's If I Can't Have You and James Morrison's Please Don't Stop The Rain in addition to his OneRepublic work.

OneRepublic is best known for their hit songs Apologise, Stop and Stare, Secrets and Good Life.
