The Wanted disses Britney
First, they called Christina Aguilera a "b***h". Now it seems that British boyband The Wanted is picking a fight with another pop princess: Britney Spears.
The boys made headlines when they openly criticised Aguilera, claiming that the judge and coach of The Voice snubbed them when they're on the show recently.
Before you knew it, they have turned to Spears, recalling an incident that implied that the pop star is a diva that makes ridiculous demand.
The group was the opening act for her Femme Fatale Tour at the Manchester Evening News Arena in November. According to one of the members Siva Kaneswaran during a radio interview, he and their tour manager were looking at a laptop in a hallway, when security ordered them to turn away, claiming that Spears was about to come through.
"We faced the wall for about 10 seconds until she got really far away," Kaneswaran said on Fresh 102.7, insisting that "it was serious" when the DJ suggested they were probably just "messing" with the group.
Well, Spears' management is certainly not taking this lying down, as her rep stated: "What's even more interesting than the false allegations they made is the fact that they have claimed to be picked on by two female pop stars in just a few days. Look out Lady Gaga—there are still three days left this week."
The Wanted seemed to contradict themselves when another member Jay McGuiness said of Spears, 30: "When we actually met her person to person she was so down-to-earth."
