Ada Choi sells house to pay mom's debts?

Ada Choi Siu-fun has a habitual gambler mother and this is not a secret in Hong Kong.
Recently, the actress was said to be selling her detached house in suburban Yuen Long for over HK$9mil (RM3.5mil).
And then she and her Chinese husband Max Zhang Jin were spotted searching for a place to stay in the city.
The couple checked out three apartment units, which are old and small, but has yet to make a decision.
This sparked speculation that Ada, 38, was forced to sell the current property to settle her mother Wong Sau-moi's debts.

Asked if it was true, Ada frowned and said: "Thank you for the concern, please give me some space la."
Wong divorced her husband and took care of Ada and her brother alone when they were still young.
At 17, Ada won the second runner-up in the 1991 Miss Hong Kong beauty contest.
After that, she was rumoured to be "taken care of" by billionaire Joseph Lau Luen Hung, who held a million-dollar birthday party for her and paid off Wong's huge debts then.
As Ada came out to work, she had numerous times settled her mother's debts but Wong did not change her ways.

In 2000, she announced that she wanted to sever ties with her mother when she was unable to settle her gambling debts which amounted to millions of Hong Kong dollars.
Their relationship mended several years later when Wong swore that she would kick the habit.
Earlier this month, Wong's 90-year-old mother passed away but she went gambling at a casino, and Ada had to make arrangements for the funeral.
Wong was also exposed to have frequented casinos three to four times a week.
Ada knew her mother had lied about quitting gambling and had quarrelled with her on numerous occasions.
