After winning six Grammys, making tons of money from her album of breakup hits, and very likely getting people excited about her next song or album, Adele announces that she is stepping away from music for four or five years.

Why? Well, to focus on her love life, of course.

"If I am constantly working, my relationships fail.

"So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy.

"I am f*cking off for four or five years,” the Someone Like You artist tells US Vogue of her future plans, adding, "And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch."

She also considers herself “a good girlfriend” because she likes to cook, laugh, and enjoys sex.

For her next album, Adele reveals that she will be ditching the sombre tone that has dominated her first two records.

The 23-year-old describes how she "cried a lot", and acknowledges that "crying is really bad for your vocal cords too", which didn’t help.

Adele made her live comeback since her November throat surgery at the Grammy Awards. She sang Rolling in the Deep and received a standing ovation.

The singer describes her boyfriend Simon Konecki, 37, as her rock over a difficult few months following her vocal cord haemorrhage.

"He looks after me. I don't think I'd have got through the recovery from surgery if not for him.

"I am never writing a breakup record again, by the way," she adds. "I'm done with being a bitter witch."

Adele also said that people often misunderstand her.

"People think that I'm f*cking miserable," she shared.

"They are really surprised when they meet me that I'm chatty and bubbly and kind of quite carefree really. I'm the total opposite of my records."
