People have speculated but Matt Bomer has been tight-lipped about his sexuality that is until last weekend.
The White Collar TV star was awarded the New Generation Arts and Activism Award at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards for his activism against HIV/AIDS and publicly thanked his partner Simon Halls, and their three children when accepting the award.
"I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry," he said onstage.
"Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment."
Halls is a Hollywood publicist with Slate PR, and also represents Glee’s Ryan Murphy and How I Met Your Mother’s Neil Patrick Harris.
Bomer doesn’t speak of his family much, but it’s believed that three-year-old twins Walker and Henry are Halls’ kids, while Kit, five, is from Bomer’s previous relationship.
The In Time star has previously declined to comment when Details magazine asked if he cared about the rumours questioning his sexuality.
Bomer said: "I don't care about that at all. I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life."
"I have a network and a show riding on my shoulders. I would say a big difference between my character and me is that I can be too trusting. And I've realized in this business that's not necessarily the smartest thing to be. I definitely have a thing or two to learn from the con artists."
The 34-year-old actor will be guest starring on Glee as Blaine’s (Darren Criss) older brother, Cooper Anderson.
He is also set to star alongside The Vow’s Channing Tatum and I Am Number Four’s Alex Pettyfer in Steven Soderbergh’s stripper movie Magic Mike.
Bomer will also be seen in Ryan Murphy’s The Normal Heart about a gay activist raising awareness on HIV/AIDS in the early 1980s. It also stars Julia Roberts, Mark Ruffalo and Alec Baldwin.
