Was Dan Radcliffe drunk while filming Harry Potter?
It turned out that some of Harry Potter's moments on the silver screen are fueled by a few drops of alcohol, as actor Daniel Radcliffe revealed recently.
The star of Victorian thriller The Woman in Black looked back at his wild past and admitted that he was drunk at some points when filming the Harry Potter films.
Daniel Radcliffe talks about how he was drunk at times on the Harry Potter film sets.
"I can honestly say I never drank at work on Harry Potter. I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work. I can point to many scenes where I'm just gone. Dead behind the eyes," he revealed in an interview with Heat magazine.
The 22 year-old said he turned to whisky and partying to cope with the pressure of fame, which intensified as he turned 18 years old and started filming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth installment of the hugely popular fantasy franchise.
"I have a very addictive personality. It was a problem. People with problems like that are very adept at hiding it. It was bad. I don't want to go into details, but I drank a lot and it was daily – I mean nightly," he explained.
Now he considered himself lucky that somehow his alcohol-filled escapades have gone unnoticed by the paparazzi.
However, the British lad soon realised that he had to change his ways before things got out of hand. As a result, he quit drinking in Aug 2010.
"You either have to change something or give into that shame," he concluded. Well, good for you, Dan.
